About Kim Sanchez
In 1999, Kim walked into a local nonprofit to volunteer and never looked back! She’s worn every hat in a nonprofit: volunteer, board member, program supervision, and development. She collaborated with local leaders to develop an essential emergency services program, wrote and received her first grant, which paved the way for her second act. She caught the grants bug! Kim is an evangelist for nonprofit strategy and believes that the lack of a well thought out strategy can hurt an organization’s mission, fundraising, and bottom line. She attended California State University, Fullerton in Communications and the University of California, Los Angeles receiving a Nonprofit Management Certificate. She is pursuing her Grant Professional Certified (GPC). Today, Kim lives in California with her husband Damien (the Zookeeper) and their rescue animals. She spends her spare time hiking, crafting, and gardening.
